Threaded is a collaborative, multiplayer platform. Every user has a profile that identifies them across the app, and every organization has an info page that provides context about what your team builds, where, and what you’re working toward. Together, these profiles ensure your team knows who they’re working with, and that the AI Assistant understands the environment it’s operating in.

#Your User Profile

Every user in Threaded has a personal profile that includes:

First and Last Name How you’re identified across the platform
Email Address Your login and contact information
Icon Color A color assigned to your user icon for quick visual identification

Your name and icon color appear wherever you’re active in Threaded — on comments, actions, and Change Requests — so your teammates can see who made a change or left a note at a glance.

#Updating Your Profile

Access your profile by clicking your user icon in the top right corner of the app. From there you can update your name or change your icon color at any time.

#Organizations

An organization in Threaded is a separate workspace containing its own process, instruction set, parts and tools tables, members, and AI context. All content in Threaded is scoped to a single organization—you cannot reference objects across organizations, and the AI Assistant operates within one organization at a time.

#Switching Organizations

If you are a member of more than one organization, you can switch between them using the org switcher in the top left corner of the app. Click on your current organization name to open the switcher and select another organization. Each organization’s data and AI context are entirely separate.

#Organization Info

Organization Info is found under Admin > Organization Info and stores context about your organization that is shared across all members. It includes the following fields:

Organization Name The name of your organization as it appears across the platform
Website Your organization’s website for reference
Organization Description A description of your organization including industry served, key manufacturing processes, production type, mission, and any other relevant context
Facilities and Locations Your primary location, additional facilities, and geographic distribution
Priorities & Challenges Your current operational priorities and key challenges your team is actively working to address
Additional Context Any other information or instructions relevant to your organization and how you operate

#Why This Matters

Organization Info is both a reference page and how the AI Assistant understands your organization. The fields you fill in here are included as context in every AI conversation in Threaded, allowing the AI to provide analysis, recommendations, and support that is relevant to what you actually build, where you operate, and what you’re trying to improve. The more complete your Organization Info, the more useful and relevant the AI’s responses will be.

#Adding Organization Info

Organization Info can be filled in manually by clicking on any field and adding content directly. Alternatively, you can kick off the Gather Org Info Workflow by clicking the button at the top of the page. This launches a structured AI-guided workflow where the AI asks you a series of questions about your organization and fills in the fields based on your answers.
